I’ve been painting all the cities I’ve lived in, and so far I like this piece the best from this project. I lived for many years in this city. I left it as part of the great diaspora whereby most of the people who made it what it was got gentrified out by a cold world, a fucked up system, and its well-to-do cardboard cut-outs who showed up – forks in hand – to slice up the Golden Goose that Was.
